Seven-inch monitor with Karaoke Vision camera.

Built-in subwoofer for a solid low-end.

Plenty of Power
The STVD-1001 delivers plenty of power for your next karaoke gathering or for just listening to music. Two 10-Watt tower speakers are backed up by a 20-Watt subwoofer on the middle console, so you get a full rage of clear sound.

Full-Featured DVD Playback
The STVD-1001 takes full advantage of its on-board DVD player, offering all the features you'd expect in a modern DVD system. Program track playback to a desired order, display DVD menus or audio in desired languages (if available on DVD), select different camera angles on multi-angle DVDs, use Still/Fast/Slow/Step playback modes for zeroing in on a particular scene, set parental locks on certain discs, and plenty more.

Playback of CDs, MP3, and JPG Discs
This player automatically detects if a loaded disc is DVD, audio CD, MP3 or JPG picture CD disc.

Pop in your favorite CDs, burn MP3s to CD-R/RWs for hours of listening, or view pictures from your recent family trip on JPG CDs.

Seven-Inch Monitor
Front and center on the STVG-1001's center console is a seven-inch black & white TV monitor. This displays the lyrics contained on CD+G karaoke discs for the performer.

The unit also features a small camera lens for its unique Karaoke Vision feature--lift up the lens to display your image on the monitor (or on a connected TV).

Wireless Microphone Included
Get into the performance without tripping over cables with the included SMM-107 wireless microphone, which features an on/off/standby switch.

Perform a duet by connecting two microphones. Volume and echo controls let you dial in just the right sound.

Input and Output Options
The STVG-1001 features several ways to connect to your other A/V devices. Composite (RCA) audio/video outputs are provided for connecting to TVs, stereos, etc. For better video, utilize the S-Video output. And for crystal-clear digital audio, use the digital coaxial audio output.

When playing back CD+G discs (karaoke CDs with graphics of the lyrics included) lyrics will be displayed on your TV.

Auto Voice and Balance Controls
Auto Voice control lets you replace the original singer's voice with your own voice when any prerecorded, multiplex karaoke disc is played, and the Balance control lets you adjust the balance between the prerecorded original singer's voice and the music when using a multiplex karaoke disc. Leaving in the original singer is handy for learning new tunes or sparking your memory.

Built-in Echo
Enrich your voice with the built-in echo effect, which gives you anything from a little spice to a concert hall effect.

Doubles as PA System
Turn off the music and turn on the mics and you've got a great Public Address system.

Full-Featured Remote
Included is a wireless remote for accessing unit functions.

Very Happy With This!

We started to get the model below this one but decided this one would be the better one for the features. Then as a totally added bonus, we found it for $100 less than the online prices at our local Sam's Club (worth the membership price if you don't already have one). Finding it at the lower cost made it the same price as the first lower model we were considering.

The machine seems very sturdy. The speakers have a good amount of power and sound very good. It was very easy to put together and to use. We had it up and running within 10 mins, if that. We love that it plays all types of discs - cd, cd-g, cdr and cdrw, dvds... The microphones so far seem very good, the cordless one will pick up from another room in our house and the wired one has a pretty long cord. The screen in the machine is very easy to see from many angles. It can record you while you sing and as long as there is enough light the quality seems much better than we expected to get from such a video recorder, the lens for recording can be adjusted which is a nice feature. The kids really love it and so do the adults.

The remote is very feature packed as well and can do anything the machine needs.

I highly recommend it to anyone considering getting it.

We purchased this last Christmas from Sam's Club (at a deeply discounted price) for our then 9 year old son. It ended up being the biggest party ever. The quality is superb. Buy some classic oldies and crank it up. I have some priceless video of my 62 year old father singing Chantilly Lace. I love this because it is (1) not a video game (2) everybody can play (3) it is entertaining for my son when he plays by himself. I highly recommend this. I don't think we can beat last year's Christmas.
Fun ! Fun ! Fun ! Get this unit !

Like others have written, this machine just about does it all.
Excellent sound quality. The wireless microphone must be held very close to the mouth to be heard well though. It's a shame they did not install a color monitor in this unit. But it's not really a problem. You can hook up two external color monitors to this machine. One color monitor will be used for the video camera to see yourself. And the other color monitor will be used to see the song lyrics. Just hook up one to the DVD video output for the lyrics and the other on standard video output for the camera. I picked up two used 13" color televisions at our local Salvation Army store for $20 dollars each. They work fantastic for this setup. I also picked up a second corded microphone from Best Buy. My six year old niece went crazy when I set this thing up and she got to sing with the Hanna Montanna cd and saw herself on the television. I might pick up a couple of adjustable karaoke monitor stands to polish off this setup.
I also purchased this at Sam's Club for $140 dollars. I had a friend with a membership pick it up for me. Do yourself a favor and get one of these, you won't be dissapointed. Just make sure you open it right away and test it to make sure it all works. If it does'nt, then take it back to the store right away and get a new one. Thanks for reading.
Great machine!

My husband and I bought this karaoke machine for our three kids this year for Christmas. We like that it had a plug for a third microphone (which we bought an extra so all three kids could sing at once). Not only was this a great gift for the kids, but it brings the whole family together. The speakers are great quality. We haven't really experimented with attaching it to the TV or VCR for recording yet or messed too much with the voice controls/echo. I feel it is a high quality machine and worth every penny spent on it!
