I own this unit. I own a karaoke services and was using a regular karaoke machine, Cavs 105 is different. They are the only karaoke machines that can read the Super CDG disks. with this format you can buy karaoke disk with 1,000 songs on it. and they even give instructions on how to convert your cdg disk to super cdg or mp3g. Its very easy. I have 300,000 songs.
beats changing disk so often. This is 3rd gereation. The ultimate. I have 4 of these and have never had a problem. I use 3 and rent out one. I charge 400.00 bucks for 3 hrs or 125.00 to rent a 105 cavs and 1,000 songs for the weekend. Easiest way to make money and have fun...

Hard to set up. Technical instructions are very vague. It took us hours to figure out how to use our component cables. Make sure you don't have a disk in the player when setting up your preferences or it won't let you. Also, it's set up to play with s video. You have to have s video hooked up before you can go into settings and enable it to work with component cables. The sound coming from the included microphone sounds cheesy. Vocal does not mix well with the music and sounds very CHEAP!
I wish there had been more than 1 review on this item when I purchased this machine and I would not have bought it.
My friends bought a korean karaoke machine and it had professional quality sound which this machine lacks. It just wish I could have bought the one they had here locally.
So far the only good thing I can say about this machine is that dvd quality looks pretty good for movies.
Disappointed!
